Cervantes from a Yak

G'day troops. I'm off to Cervantes for a long long weekend with the kids and my outback will be on the roof, so... If I manage to redeem a few well earned "me" time I'd like to make the most of it and not waste it looking for a bite. I'll be happy to get a fees of squid and then use some to get some whiting. I was thinking of heading out to the bay on the southern side between the island and the mainland early in the am. I've windsurfers across it heaps and it is good weed/sand ground. Has anyone had any luck there or am I wasting my time. I might also have a night surf fish on the northern beach as Subday night is looking windless. Any advice would be appreciated.

We normally stay at the caravan park in November and pick up snook, Taylor and herring on sunset right out the front of th caravan park. Some of the islands look great but we have never had the right weather to go out.
