Busselton boating
Submitted by Smithy27 on Wed, 2014-09-24 16:15
Hi all- just trying to work out if it's worth dragging the boat to busselton for this Sunday through to Tuesday.
how protected is the bay? I would only be chasing whiting etc fairly close to shore, how much swell comes into the bay?
any feedback would be much appreciated
cheers

Try off Bunker Bay
Monday looks OK and I would give it a try off Bunker Bay. You could either launch off Quindalup or Old Dunsborough. I've fished for whiting there over the years and done pretty well. Usually caught fish in the 25 to 30 metre depths. I would give you some way points but I haven't saved them unfortunately. Just make sure you do a slow drift and some of the sandies are a good size. You may have to shift a few times to get on to them. Good luck.

should get KGs anywhere in
should get KGs anywhere in the bay in the sand holes around the weed. There's a few crabs in close 50m off shore just inside the first weed line . Heaps of squid in the bay at the moment. Good size snapper on the 4 mile just need to look for them 15-18m mark .I prefer to fish for the snapper in the 30m mark at night or just before sun up or sun down good chance of some sambos on the 4 mile this time of year .Hope this helps good luck
