Breaking the law (temporarily)

Well wouldn't you know it today we had 4 dhuies on deck at the same time.....

Now based on this pic alone you could draw a number of conclusions, but the correct conclusion would be that three were put down on a shotline with tags 76987, 76988 and 76989 in them and the biggest one necked and put on ice for dinner.

Amazingly enough our first drop on new ground and we both had double headers of dhuie. First time that has happened to me. They went 56,50,62 and 66cm

Though you would be surprised how many recaptures of tagged fish we have had where the fish has had severe barotrauma like this one.

 ive noticed lately that you

Sat, 2012-05-26 20:09

ive noticed lately that you mob have been catching a lot of dhu fish down that way and i myself caught my first one last year while on holiday even though i had been doing fishing holidays down that way five years previously and never seen one boated,

do you think its because of the fishing restictions that you now have in place for them?

because in the NT we dont have closed seasons or size limits (only on barra) we do shut down the saltwater end of shady but thats about it and being local i am seeing catch rates going down as well as size of fish
