I use a big Salina II 16000 with 50lb spider wire on a 24kg blue water ugly stick these days as I feel more comfortable with a spinning rod and it all works exceptionally well, reel is super smooth and strong and a lifetime warranty and the rod is as hard as a cats head. Can use it all day without tiring at all. You could probly get the lot for about 500. Oceanside could help out as that's where I got mine.

Cheers

Dale

use a stella sw 8000 and a tcurve 200 spin with 80lb saltiga si braid and it is sweet, very light but it can put the brakes on the biggest critters you are likely to come across, not cheap but it will last a lifetime and is a pleasure to use.

cheers

I use a 5000 rarenium with a 6-10kg beach elite rod and 30# penn pursuit braid. Its very light and gives the fish a fair fight not just skull drag 24/7

Id recommend a Saragossa though there so sick!
