Club Marine
Hi Aaron
I was going to insure my boat with SGIO, as I had been a loyal customer for many, many years....cars, house, the usual.
Their quote was 'over the top' and they 'excesses' were excessive, so I went with Club Marine. The dealer helped with the quote, too, so that worked out ok....I'm sure there was something in it for them, though.
I'm sure there's others here who have chosen other companies, but that's who I insured with.
Hope this helps.

hey mate this is a tip that
hey mate this is a tip that i've learnt:
If you worried about the costs, you can decrease them by insuring certain parts for less- eg the trailer.
we still insured the boat and motor for the same, but halved or evan insured the trailer for 1/3 of what its worth
For a boat package worth about 30 000 it can save you quite a bit.
But saying this you need to take good care of your trailer which you should do anyway.
- checking tyre pressure
- rinsing after use etc
club marine is a great insurance company, but SGIO do the same things for less
We are with SGIO

Nautilas
there are bad stories about all insurance companies and Nautilas were WAY more competitive than CM and the non-marine ones.

I'm with Nautilus, cheaper than Club Marine and offer very similar cover but the price you pay for CM you get very good service when making a claim i have been told.

We have used Club Marine as
We have used Club Marine as my broker strongly recommended them ( Probably gets more commission Ha Ha )
We cut our premium back by nominating lay off months.
As we are inland the boat doesn't get used much May thru to Sept so nominated those months.
If we decide to go somewhere we can ring and pay extra for say a trip to Exmouth for a week.
The boat is still covered during those months if we need to tow it for a service or repairs.
