bimini twist to cats paw am i doing it wrong?

hey all,

learnt how to do a bimini twist last night and then tie a cats paw to a wind on leader when I complete the cats paw I cant pull it tight so the braid bunches together at the end of the wind on loop. the braid grips on the rope/cord section of the wind on so it leaves an open loop, I can pull like hell and it doesn't slip but is there an easy way to get around it? or is that how it is meant to be done?? cheers

I only use a cats paw when

I only use a cats paw when tying braid bimini to swivel. When connecting braid bimini to the loop on a wind on leader I just use a simple loop to loop. Works for me and caught plenty of largish sharks up north (not intentionally, I can assure you) without failure.

dont do it tie an FG knot instead much cheaper than buying wind on leaders and its only one knot rather than 2, its easy check out the aussie bloke on youtube tying it, aso will cast through your guides much nicer as is low profile and retains 95% line strength
