Hahaha I had to laugh at that

'The pair used whole fish as bait and specialised “game fishing gear” complete with stand up harnesses.' ..but weren't targetting sharks

Definitely would of stretched the arms though! Solid effort

Pretty sure they are the boys that were camped up from us on Winderabandi Point, Ningaloo Station. I saw a couple of the Tigers they caught off the beach. They were fishing for them the whole time we were there. Could tell they enjoyed their fishing. They had a good sized boat up there too that they were beach launching with a souped up Landcruiser Ute.

Were they chumin up.  Not good at a popular camping and swimming beach.  As well in a shore based fishing zone in a sanctuary zone. Sad :(

They weren't breaking any Gov. Rules. Maybe some Station rules but...

The kids were still safe swimming though. You can see the Lemon Sharks coming from a long way off. I doubt they would have a go anyway. Not sure I'd be skurfing out in the bay though.

Have had plenty of huge Hammerheads and Tigers round the boat when fishing just north of there at Warroora Station. They always seem to just come in and have a look and then go on their way.

if it is Winderabandi

havent looked at the footage. Phil specifically asks that people do not dump offal in the bay, because of the shark issue. A couple of years ago there were some young blokes, obviously woth dad's boat, cleaning fish then dumping offal a couple of hundred meters out. I didn't pick up on it until I observed a shark, probably a tiger that was 2 metres between the dorsal and tail turn up where they were dumping. So they were told in no uncertain terms. How hard is it to keep it on board and dump at sea the next day. Or, if your delicate sensibilitiies are offended by having offal on board the next morning, run the two k's out to the nearest entrance and dump it there. I have personally seen tigers from the boat in that bay, don't really need to encourage them.

Edit--just looked at hte pics, definitely Winderabandi. Phil will be informed, if he doesn't know already, and those pricks won't be coming back. He will take a very dim view of that.

Yep Widerabandi  and  in my view not on . Wouldnt be tollerated in tourist season. To get sharks like that in the middle of the day you would need to chum.

give it a rest guys, so a couple of blokes caught & released a few sharks, some bigger than others.... wow..... No need to judge their fishing style or target species.. How many other people do you see on the beach swimming in those photos? anyone who's had a decent crack at shark fishing up north  can vouch you dont need chum at any time of day to get sharks like that, esspecially up there.

Different story if it were a peak period & had this been the case im sure these blokes would have respected others and fished elsewhere.
