Beer batter whats the best beer for it

Not sure if this has been covered before.In light of the new FogDog beer batter mix i was wondering if the type of beer makes a differance?

I like using coopers pale ale
I like using coopers pale ale gets a nice taste when I have used it. Good for drinkin too

try this: 1 1/2 cups self
try this: 1 1/2 cups self raising flour
1/2 cup corn flour
110ml soda water
110ml bundeburg ginger beer
Once mixed together leave in fridge for an hour before using. Tastes a treat!

Why not try
Lift, Solo or the lemon/lime .It works and you get to drink the beer.

a India Pale Ale is a winner for sure or a bitter beer, no point using weak flavoured beer it defeats the purpose. Pure Blonde comes up all right with the fruity aftertaste
