Beach Snapper
Been a while since I've posted so figured I should contribute something! Have been really getting into beach drone fishing over last few years and found it insanely effective at targeting snapper. Had a PB day yesterday in south west with a group of mates getting 6 keepers in 2 hour with a few more pulling hooks. No need for the gym when you're dragging fish in from 300m+. Had some random young guys come check out the action so then put them onto another 3 fish, biggest of which went 87cm. Almost pulled the bloke over with a pretty tight drag haha.! They were stoked and took their fish home.
Probably one of the best things I've found with drone fishing is how easy it is to bring people with you and put them into good fish, especially those who aren't into fishing. No sea sickness and good times chatting until a rod goes off then bang they're catching their first ever snapper. How good!
cheers

I've got the DJI Mavic 2 +
I've got the DJI Mavic 2 + Gannet Sport Release. Prob between $1000-2000. Have pretty heavy duty 10ft rods with big spin reeels with 500m+ 50lb braid. Rig is basically an elongated paternoster but with another longer dropper at the very top which attaches to the drone and a large 200g+ geapnel sinker. I use herring mostly as it'sdurable and does the job. My advice is fish only in good conditions and minimal wind as weed / swell is tricky and cross breezes even trickier.

Wow, great fish, and only
Wow, great fish, and only 300m out! Looks like I need to rethink my target ground, unnecessarily burning up all that fuel trekking out from Hillary's to the 3 mile!
