Have launched at learmonth before easy enough, watch out for stonefish tho. Saying that last time instead of a light boat we tried an 18 foot yankee centre console and were very lucky to get out. Make sure you got a decent 4wd just in case and maybe some max trax etc
just back form exmouth and launched for 4 days out of a week, just go south of learmonth to find some hard ground low or high tide( was neaps at the time, springs might be harder) if you have a good boat( go galeforce) fish the other side of the gulf, you will also need a extra person to hold the boat for retrieving if the wind is up for any north direction.
Yep, just becareful south of learmonth on springs, can make things difficult (especially with larger boat) As others have said, hard ground, least slope for the car to pull the boat up, watch for boondies in the shallows (just south of learmonth jetty), try to retrieve within a few hours of the high tide, dont bother trying north of learmonth between kailis and the jetty - its bog town!
Have a 4.5m side console and a 4x4 so it looks like ill be ok.
Really keen to get my first yellowfin bream, so was thinking the creeks would be the best option.
Thanks brad. Never realised stone fish were in Exxy.
Got stung by a "happy moments" last time i was there getting a hook out. Had no idea what it was. Had trecked all the way from bundegi to near the navel base on foot.
My arm started to go numb and my heart rate increased. Preety scarry when you 15 and miles away from help.
For a while i thought i was a gona lol. Just layed there trying to lower my heart rate for a few hours till the posion left my system.
Got real bad sunburn too.
The funy thing was when i got back to perth the next hotbite had a warning about them. If only i had known before
Yeh the stonies are worse in the gulf and around learmonth and wapet creek.
We launched fine there one year with cruiser and my old bass boat, two years later and same spot same car different boat and we went down and were lucky to get out. I still rate learmonth better than bay of rest as its just as fast getting across the gulf.

We have launched from pebble beach, but might be a bit tricky if you have a big boat?
