Went to Doc yesterday for some shit an was askign her about Ross River virus, being that coming from Tasmania where its widespread. To perth apparently its gaining ground here too. Well Doc told me that 90% of her patiants with it contracted it in Mandurah..... Reason I asked bout it, is because fishing upriver I get so many mozzie bites its insane. So from now on gona drown myxself in repellent and a hat... :)

Yep,

Lived in Falcon in the early 90's and one of neighbours got it.

I copped it back in 2006, probably from a mozzie bite while at work at North Capel. Wouldn't wish it on anyone.

Not Ross River Virus, But how
Not Ross River Virus, But how about Dengue Fever. I managed to get it on a recent trip to Bali. bloody horrible experience and after a month & 1/2, still feeling like I have chronic fatigue.

Dengue
Dengue Fever has not got to the south west "yet".
I hear it is caught more and more in the north now.
I copped a dose of Dengue in the islands of Thailand in the 90's and it kicked my ass for a while also. Got some pills from a pharmasist up there that cleared it up but found out the drug was banned in all western countries..
Best bet is just cover yourself in Bushmans, until that gets banned in the western countries.
