Windy!!
I was in Jurien Dec 28th - Jan 3 and only got one day out due to howling winds, still it was a good day with 2 Dhuies and a Baldchin in the 30s - 40s drifting out from Essex Rocks. Never saw any surface activity - another month or 2 for the mackies to arrive in numbers according to the locals. Wind dropped off last Sunday as we packed up to come home - typical. Hope you get good weather!

don't bother trying to go
don't bother trying to go out in the 20's, last time we were there the first 2 days we went to the shelf and all we got were small pinkies and a couple of blackarse the last day we tried a spot that we had from way back found on the gps only about 9 mile and ended up bagging out on dhufish, 2 nice baldies, pinky, sambo and a nice blackarse all on just 2 long drifts had to release 2 dhuies due 2 already bagging out we were going for the smaller stuff but still got the 2 dhuies we wanted to keep fishing because we got all these fish by 11 am but to risky hooking more dhu fish and hoping realeasing it okay but it is just not worth it. so it is good fishing in the 30s to the late 40 range.
Theres absolutely nothin like hookin up to the first biggun of the day. JACKO W.
