With the recent easterlies there's a good chance the weed has cleared a bit or eased up enough to be somewhat fishable.

 quinns beach (north of portofinos). just went down there and had a look. Theres a bit of weed on the beach but water is clean and clear of weed so will be fine. I usually park myself on the groin on the right side of it and cast mulies out and to the right. Theres snaggy reef in close so have to cast past it. usually get a few tailor but lots of small silver bream will destroy your mulies before sundown. Have caught small mulloway there and have seen pictures of biger mullas and some sharks caught there but i think more likely end of summer. Bit of a SW wind coming in but its fine down there for weed. good luck let us know if u get any any tailor.  cheers dave 

 hey dave well i went down there and you were right about the dw west haha i fished just to the left of that little groyne and there wasnt to much weed around but when you hooked some it wasnt just a small bit stayed there till around 730pm managed to get one tailor at around the 40s he went back in and after that nothing so packed up and called it a night i think it would be a good place no fish in the right conditions though

 Thats a good spot to keep in mind during and especially towards the end of summer. Ive got plenty of nice tailor there and heaps of good size herring if you burley them up with pollard. Not a bad spot to sit and have a beer on a hot summer evening with a livie out as well, even get to see a few babes in bikinis walking their dogs or swimming     cheers dave
