what a joke the comp is this year we have a certain team that has been using drugs(allegedly) two years ago it was a team tanking (my team and they were) and the CEO of the afl goes on a junket overseas just when the enquiry is about to be handed down if it turns out a certain team is guilty of taking drugs they need every premiership point strip from them and if a certain CEO of the AFL actually did tip that team they were being ivestigated then of he needs to hang his head in disgrace and immediately resign

What a bloody mess
We have to wait for the report to be published to find out just how big a mess the AFL is in and who is involved. It certainly will not do the game any good that's for sure

agree
what the AFL needs is a new CEO a bloke like Mike Fitspatrick he might be a carlton man but is scrupulously honest

The current
Afl CEO seems to slide around most issues, always had doubts about the bloke.
As for the CLUB that's allegedly taking banned substances, the afl appear to be taking a soft take down of the situation, "just in case"
Some want blood, some want points and some want it to go away.

Just out of curiosity....
...if premiership points WERE taken off the offending club, would the clubs that they have played gain/lose points accordingly?

Same
If a side lost to the offending team their points stay the same, only the offending team loses. They would drop to the bottom of the ladder and all other teams move up one place.
Much like what happened to Melbourne Storm

If it's enough to make Eddie
If it's enough to make Eddie spit his Cornflakes then it's gotta be serious. This whole slanging match has turned into a farce. The whole AFL board should be sacked for inaction nobody wants this crap in the game and weather the substances are legal or not they have bought the game into disrepute and need to be dealt with accordingly.

Agree ..ASADA findings are
Agree ..ASADA findings are irrelevant the club should have been nailed straight away by the afl board ... one big lawyers fest , I see Hirdy has now hired QC Julian Birnside to join the circus

Saying the ASADA findings are
Saying the ASADA findings are irrelevant is ridiculous. If they are found to have not done anything illegal then the afl will be spending millions in court if they attempt to impose any sanctions on essendon. They have attempted to gain a competitive edge on their opposition, if it was a legal method then I don't see the problem.
Brisbane were using iv hydration during their premiership years during games, was it illegal - no, were they punished - no, have the laws been changed to prevent it from happening again - yes.
Lots of essendon haters on here.
If the bombers have done something illegal then give us our whack and we will cop it, if they can't prove the club did anything wrong then there is no grounds for penalties.

Disrepute
At the least they've brought the game into disrepute. I'm tipping a big fine and banned from a few drafts.

Agree the AFL is playing the
Agree the AFL is playing the harm minimisation game, not suprising given the CEO is a lawyer, - leaks - hell if the AFL was a boat it would sink very quickly - media were leaked to and had printed the penalties to both Adelaide and Melbourne (and many other things have been leaked too) before the AFL announced them, that way the AFL are taking action but there are no suprises and backlash from fans.
Only problem Andrew D. is the AFL have lost credibility with the fans as a result.
