pretty cool
imagine it may be a bit heavy but you can see where this tech is going - boat builders of the future will be designers who sell plans for you to take to someone to "print'

This technology with be incredible as the years progress.
No longer will we need to import goods from other countries. Simply puchase the plans and print locally. Great for the environment and with any luck; great for our pockets.

The end result looks good, but
Did it float correctly could a motor be placed in it or was it purely to show the possibilities that could be in the future.

Article
I seen another article about this and the design was taken from a well known fibreglass boat builder in the US.
The design is proven so i can't see why not.

or good news!
the boats are sold based on the design and performance -if you can cut your lead time to build from several months (like for a large Riviera) down to a few weeks you would reduce costs, increase margin, this could also allow you to drop your price which would result in more sales.

Yeah pretty cool
I been smashing out some 3D printed lures the past few months. Stickbaits, swimbaits, poppers etc.
good for printing marlin lure heads too.
amazing some of the things you can make, and the materials are only getting better and better. They have filament now with part aluminium, some with wood, copper etc etc.
I reckon no dramas printing a transom strong enough to bolt outboards onto. Especially with some of the infill designs (cubic) and shapes you can print.
you can actually already print things like minn Kota spare props, transducer brackets etc.
i just gotta a cheap china printer but it prints some reasonable quality stuff once you work out how to use it properly
