Washed out

Washed out

This year's trip to shelter bay didn't go to plan.  3 cars , 2 towed their boats in and I drove my boat over from Dehnam.  The forecast wasn't great couple that with 1.5 meter high tide not perfect! We got 1 day of good conditions before the north-east storm rolled in. Our camp was call Hull. A big spot for large groups, near the Dirk Hartog barge pickup. The new ranger was very helpful even brought his bob-cat down to help us build a barrier around our camp to try and keep the tide out. Not a bad spot if conditions are good but id book another camp away from the water next time. We lasted 4 days before the advise was to leave or the cars would be stuck and the track will be closing.  Bugger.  The pack up was a massive effort then the cars took off. I drove my boat back to Dehnam and booked some accommodation.  Alot of people got caught out. I stayed in shark bay and got a couple of trips out on the bay. Caught a few black snapper and school mackerel.  All in all still a good adventure,  boat and trailer did its job , fishing the west side of         Dirk hartog was amazing but holy he'll the sharks are nuts... lost all but one fish to them, they would even eat the bait and get hooked. Talked with plenty of top people towing boats and fishing all parts of shark Bay. I stored my boat with Jamie Morgan just minutes out of the center of town.. I highly recommend this service if you're considering sharkbay rel nice guy helped out with finding spots too.
