Rodeo about to show it's gutz

My Brother nearly rolled his ute when trying to get infront of a 4X4 with a flat batt - jump starting can be hazardous!

How many Pure Blondes does it take to create a situation like that? LOL

Funny eh? I wasn’t there at the time, but they only had to tow the car with the flat battery back 10 feet and there was heaps of room to get infront! So was definitely too many beers!

Sorry for the thread bump - tow ball snatch strapping

Wed, 2011-03-02 07:59

But I just saw this in random images.  Looks like you guys snatched/towed this out off the tow ball from the picture?  If you did, you are all pretty lucky people.  Snatch strapping/towing off the towball is a big no-no as they arent designed to take the load the strap can generate and then have a nasty habit of snapping off and going through the front windscreen, a young bloke was killed in QLD in december last year.  Probably hear of one every 18 months or so.  I cant believe I still see people doing it, but I saw 3 vehicles get pulled out around preston beach a few weeks back in this manner.

If any of you regularly go 4wding and are using this technique please stop immediately, get some rated recovery points fitted front and rear to your vehicle and go see a demonstration or do a 4wd course to learn how to recover without endangering your lives.

Tow ball snatching

Cheers Bryan, agree, this was my brother and mates as i was off to see my baby boy born in hostpital (timing was a bit tricky). If I was there, I would have said the same thing mate - either remove the hitch and slip the snatch on the reciever and pin it! or attach to chassis!
