Prawns

Prawns

This is last nights efforts of prawns from the Swan River. This was discussed a little while ago, but here is the proof. Average prawn size is 15cm, didn't weigh them so am not sure. All taken in or around the 10-13 metre mark. Good night had by all

Hi Willy

Nice lot there,
Did you see any one dabbing for them.
Are they on the move with the out going tides.
Cheers for the info from my other post.

Prawns

Gentlemen

All prawns were captured from diving. I have never seen anyone 'Dabbing'? (is this legal, does one 'Dab' whilst at home alone?).

Is this similiar to what I know as scooping? Scooping is the act of standing in waist deep water with a torch and a scoop net on a moonless night, out going tide and scooping them up? Normally only small school size prawns, but nonetheless, quite entertaining.

Diving. As for tides, moon phases, water temp, Nah, I just go when the missus lets me go and I feel up to it.

Hope this helps

where & when!

These rains flush the king prawns down the river and places like Rocky Bay near the Swan Yacht Club is good. You want a big run out tide and get ther before sundown and have plenty of lighting and long dab scoops. This coming New moon will see a big run out tide and a low at 8pm etc is good!

Yeah, keeny, I'd leave them alone....why do you think they are that big.  Horrible things anyway.

Ryan, found that can of harden up yet...will be down the usual on Sat night.

Cheers Pete
