Last nights Snapper from my 10 foot Tinny
Well I really wanted to go out land based during that storm, but due to having the dam flu I wasn't allowed to go out in the rain. Anyway with the forcast for low winds and not much rain I decided to head out Sat night for a few hours in my tinny. I was still coughing and sniffling but I was determined to go anyway so I did.
Halfway to the ramp I realised I'd forgotten the sounder so I turned around and went back and got it. Once I was half way down again it started to rain and I hadn't brought the wet weather gear, bugger I thought I'd just continue and hope it stops. Luckily it did, sort of.
I got a few small showers over the time I was out but not too heavy. Anyway I found a likely spot and set out my big lines. I couldn't be bothered trying for baitfish so just used old bait that I already had. Once the lines were out I got as comfortable as one can in a 10 foot tinny and settled down to wait. An hour and a half later my line went screaming off, I hooked up straight away and felt plenty of headshakes and new it was a pinky, whoohoo. After a short while I gently led it into my landing net and it was mine. Aprox 9kgs of beautiful Pink.

getting the bottom line final answer from a bunch of blokes that use false names and put smiley faces at the end of paragraphs is not the best place in the world to get the information you seek.

I did get a rough measurement
I did get a rough measurement as it was slightly longer than my icebox. My icebox has a fishing sticker on it and goes up to 88cms(length of icebox) and it was longer than that. So aprox 90-92cm and 9kgs. No ID tag.

There was one of the Kayak boys out that night, in a yellow yak but not you. He said he'd had a quiet night that particular night, so I reckon I just got lucky.

I've just been parking at the Woodman point public boatramp and taking the risk. So far so good. I guess eventually something might happen but far out you can't let what ifs, stop you from doing something you like. I've parked there quite a few times so far and no problems. (I have seen a few drunken louts about a few times but they haven't caused me any grief yet.) Also I've also launched off the beach down Navel Base by the Desal plant quite a few times to, with my 4x4 and even there no serious trouble so far either, though I did get a smashed trailer light there once but thats it.
