My son is in Kalbarri with a friend and caught this off the jetty. Claimed it was a deformed skippy but didn't look like one to me - can anyone ID it?
It was safely returned to be caught another day!

The bunch are quick with jokes.
That does have the head (not job added) of a bluenose salmon, but its miles away from where it should be.

big eye trevally
judging by the eye size and the fact you can see where the tail scutes just start, i would say its a big eye trevally that has a deformity of its upper jaw, and its a fair way south of its normal range, but thats not unusual with the warm currents the last 2 years.
