How many hooks did Fredo have rigged on the jig and how where they rigged? Looks like there's an assist hook at the top swinging free, so I'm thinking three altogether.
From looking at your barracuda pic, I think I've answered my own question. Do you have much trouble with the jig snagging on the bottom when it is rigged with three hooks?
not realy. indeed, you need to keep your hand on the pick. if the line accelerate or stop, close imedialy the pick up, and put the rod high and quick. if it was a fish, you put the hook in his teeth. if it s the bottom, the assist hook haven't the time to do an "error".
with this "technique", i catch more fish (when the jig is attack when it goes down), and i loose one jig approximativly by session.
Especially if Fredo has a few of those mermaids he had in the photo's he sent me of the boat a while back. If they were your girlfriends or wives, you guys are doing very well for yourselves.
Beautiful boat, beautiful girls and 100lb ambo's what more could you want. You guys have it made.
