Maybe they are fishing north of woodys, does anybody know if it will be open at the end of the year ???

Is this for research to look at re opening the sound
I have heard there is still quite a few around in the shallows which is a good sign

a nice feed of crabs would go down nicely too, will be interesting to here the results from the outings these guys have and what difference the ban is actually doing on the crabs in the sound

I saw the same boat Jason yesterday and i was thinking the same!
fine to let the crab stocks replenish but the recs will dent them a bit when opened but the pro's!!!....well they'll make em p!ss!

Scooping
I remember the days when you could get a good feed scooping blueys from the surface,i think if the fisheries openend the sound to fishing for them Jan to March only, to both pro and rec there would never be a problem.
When you net something all year round there is going to be concequences,and that isn't farming,
It just got out of control with no follow up research when these licenses got handed out from the fisheries
I beleive if they reduce this fishing time and maybe up the size there would be no problem
Reducing the bag limit is fine but netting all year round is not sustainable.
