Must have been a guy taking his missus out telling her how rare mackies are in Perth, and that they dont get too big, then having her get the only one of the trip which she will then brag about for a year :p

If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Water Temp

Fri, 2011-02-11 16:04

I was on the water off Ocean Reef earlier this week but didn't try a troll for mackies as water temp was still only 22 degrees. I like it a bit higher - I see from the CSIRO Sea Surface Temperatures Charts though that the warmer water is not far off Perth Metro now.

Warm Water

Fri, 2011-02-11 17:08

If this current continues to bring warm water, theres going to be a lot of people catching new species for the first time...

Plenty of trolling going on, which also takes a bit of fishing time off the demersals

Hope the weather holds for Tuesday now..........
