Wilbinga Virgin

Hi folks, just wondering if anyone is heading up to Wilbinga on sunday & willing to have a "plus one" lol
We have never been there & the family is keen to try it out. We have a Colorado 3lt diesel with snatch straps & Trax but realy don't want to test them out haha.
So if youre heading that way for a nice sunday drive & you don't mind showing an old guy the good way in with the Do's & Dont's, please let me know.
cheers Rob

Hi folks, I was looking at 16psi for the tyres but if you think lower is better then maybe I will go more. I have the compressor on board so all good there.
"Top track", is that on the beach or in the dunes ??
"Sink hole" WTF I seen them on tele, I think i'm gunna need a longer set of trax. haha
Thanks for the tips & hope to see someone else up there.
cheers Rob

Probably the easiest way in

Sat, 2015-01-17 10:32

Probably the easiest way in is from Dame Pattie Drive in Two Rocks. Just follow the fence line north for a bit, then take one of the tracks across to the beach. Should be lots of other cars out there with the good weather tomorrow so you can just follow someone else.

I would definitely let down to 15 psi, but going down to 10 psi might be risking rolling the tyre off the rim.

I haven't been up there in a while, but some sections of the beach can get soft and narrow, so if it looks a bit dodgy try and go around through the tracks behind the beach instead.

Put ya car at risk with hard

Sun, 2015-01-18 14:11

Put ya car at risk with hard tyres up that way. Not sure what tyres you got but no risk at 10 with quility tyres. Just don't go over 30 (which ya shouldn't do anyway up there)

Hi folks, after all the

Sun, 2015-01-18 20:42

Hi folks, after all the advice that was greatly appreciated, we decided to take the Mustang for a run.
I didn't have to let the tyres down, I didn't get lost or bogged & Lizard you will happy to know we didn't fall down a "sink hole" Haha.
So tomorrow its down to get the new tyres fitted to give myself the best chance when we decide to tackle the dreaded Wilbinga track. Lol
Have a good safe trip Dhuit with the new toy, lots of pics required & be safe.
Thanks again for all your help folks & we will be doing the track soon.

cheers Rob

Always run 12 PSI

Always run 12 PSI

Too many idiots up there racing down the beach because they have there tyres to hard and think speed fixes everything. Seen 4 rolled cars up there so far since new years.
