Who can supply and fit new Perspex boat windows?

HI Guys,

I am down in Safety Bay and need to find someone that can supply and fit some new boat windows to my Stacer 395 Tinnie - The old perspex has had to much sun, and has a cool cracked effect, but I cannot see through it any more. Any done this recently and have an idea of what this costs?

Anyone know a place who can do this SOR, or if need be NOR, as it seems harder everyday to get service or spares SOR?

Thanks,

Davo

As Black Gen said - I had the Screens done on my rig about a year ago and have seen plenty of salt , sun , and kids ( sticky fingers) - still look brand new . And yes not a bad price too.

There is another mob called West screens or Screewn West .. can't remember exactly . A few of the boys on here have used them and they seem like a specialtist outfit aswell . Maybe check them out also .

Hope it goes well for ya .

cheers

FYI... for future reference, a tinnie windscreen will cost you $600 if they can re-use your old frames and $800 for the new frames fully fitted with new windows.

Both guys above got back to me with a quote within 2 hours - great service there...

Unfortunatley it is too expensive for my budget at the moment...

Yeah you re use the old

Yeah you re use the old frames and take the old windows to a perspex company. Up my way its Productive plastic and they will cut to size, and you just re fit. Cost should be around $150 to $200. Big issue is sometimes getting teh old frame apart but if you tink smart you normally can do it by just taking of one or maybe two edges.

Yeah the place i used to use

Yeah the place i used to use is mainline plastics in caning vale but i have moved to merriwa now the trick I've found to removing old frames is to soak the edges with the screws in clr for abot an hour gets rid of the corrosion around the screw and help stops it snapping then spray a bit of penetre on it and they should come out easy
