Keep it clean
Hey mate, there is quite a few areas you could try your luck being north or south. If its your first good say tims thicket/white hills would be a good starting poin, sand is soft-ish but not to soft, fishing can be quite good to and there is plenty of room for everyone.
MOST IMPORTANT....look after the beaches, follow rules, be curtious. Not saying you are going to destroy areas but we are getting locked out of good areas because people just don't care!! Always good to go with other cars too, it's just to easy to get it wrong! If your keen for a 4be and no one to go with I'm always keen to hit the beaches

Right on Slosh
Slosh is totally right........be cool on the beaches you wont be the only person using them. I normally have my faithfull dog with me....many children, sunbathers etc are on beaches too.........I never help out ppl who have been driving like F wits.......If you do go to Tims you cannot always get through to White Hills via the beach as their are rocks that sometimes cannot be negotiated due to tides and/ or beach conditions..........have a great time

Nice rig matey, can't go past
Nice rig matey, can't go past the 80's. Although I am a bit biased. I live down lake clifton and I too can give Tims Thickett, Whitehills and Preston beach the big personal thumbs up.
Also as Slosh said watch the tyre pressures and be courteous to everyone there. In summer the beach can get pretty chopped up so if you stick to the top track in you should be right. Just watch the rock overhang between tims and Whitehills on a high tide. Chuck a rod in too as there is plenty of fish for the fry pan. have fun on all 4's bud.

Have ya got much experience 4WDing. If not best ya tag along with another 4WDer who knows what their talking about, can get ya self into to strife very easily. Stay up high on the beach (above high tide line. Let tyres down to 18 PSI use high range 4WD second gear possibily third if your 4WD is a manual. Don't be scared to use low range 4WD first and second gear. Keep the rev's up to maintain momentum. Tims Thicket you shouldn't have any problems. there's a few parts between White Hills and Preston beach where you'll need to have ya wits about you. At times there's no top track to use and you'll need to drop down into the wave zone. Good luck and enjoy. Ya've got yaself a 4B that'll do the job look after it and you'll have years of fun.

Tyre pressure depends on the
Tyre pressure depends on the tyre width, my dads Nissan patrol we run 13psi, as the tyres are thinner, thicker tyres can have slighty higher as already have more surface area. 18psi is probs a tad to high for soft sand but could get away with it if you keep to the harder sand near base of junes.
Fishing and catching are two different things. But i want to learn how to catch.

Tyre pressure
must be running very skinny tyres for 13 psi, be very carefull ya don't break the bead (seal tyre to rim) and end up with a flat. I've never have had to go that low and have been in some very soft sand. But everyone to their own.

I don't know if you have missed it but alkimos area is pretty good but apparently it's "locked out" don't know if you can still get down pipiddiny rd? Apparently f*ing brilliant for tailor! Just quietly! Ledge point near lancelin is not to bad, could drive on the beach for hours.
Where do you normally go to other than willbinga?
