weather
Don't know what weather reports you've been looking at Bodie, but until Sunday its been shizenhouse since way before easter. Theres been a few good windows, but not many really.
I haven't been out but a few crew have, the coral spawn has really shut things down since easter but its starting to clear up so should start coming good again soon. Hasn't been as good as during gamex thats for sure.
I know Mossie has been out the last few days but not sure whats happened to his 'diary reports'

coral spawn ??
Hey Adam whats the reasoning behind the coral spawn slowing things down ??? Does it make much of a difference up there ???
It doesnt seem to bother the fishing in Perth or maybe it does just havent heard of someone mentioning this before ...
Cheers fishfish...

lack of o2
I think it may be the lack of Oxygen in the water as its suffocated by the coral spawn, well for pelagics anyway. As for demersals, I'm not really sure but it just seems to switch off from my experience. I'm not sure if you guys get the coral spawn in the same levels as us.
I know for example that the mackies go very quiet on the westside after the full moon spawn at Easter and once it dissipates, turn up in numbers elsewhere (can't give away where with the FW comp coming up ;) )

Exmouth
We just got back from Exmouth on Sunday. The weather wasnt perfect but we got in a few really good days. We ended up with 8 marlin and 1 sailfish. I also hooked up on my first mahi mahi. We hit a few tunas as well. Mainly strippy as per normal. The best was a 10kg yellow fin. There werent too many mackky around, however we did get busted a fair few times. Losted heaps of gear this time round. Didnt change some of my wire leaders, bad mistake and costly.
If I can work it out, I'll post some photos.
Didnt do any bottom bashing, as the swell was up and I didnt really feel like gettin seasick.

today
The guys at work went out today and raised 3 and landed 1 in 2.5 hours fishing, might be starting to fire up again.
A few of the other boys did well on the rubies on Sunday too.
