What a Magic partner!!!!!

Ok dont all be jealous. The Boss (aka the loved one) has just given me a voucher for $1500. And its not my money either!!!

I also have an old one! Yeh ha for $200. So I have $1700 to spend on fishing gear.

Now a few on here will know I have stayed away from Stella's because I am a rough fisho, dont baby my gear etc. It has to be tough to be in my/our hands.

I am not a comp fisho, more like I love it to death, get out there and try and do the best I can.

With this PRIZE, one Stella and a rod to match, or 2 Twinpowers and rods.

I have a problem. I dont go back from a fav anything, so if I get the Stella I might be forced to never look back.

Budget Budget???

Some on here have said go for it with the Stella's, but I am not forgetting the Daiwa range either.

IMHO a 1k+ reel is a treasure, and I am not sure that I am respectfull enough for that>

Just asking for opinions about this DILEMMA!!!!!!!!!!

Neels

PS What a women!!!

Where the hell did I go wrong?

2 posts in 1 day about how generous partners are. I wanna join this club but it's not gonna happen.

If I want a new rod, she needs a new handbag, shoes, etc.

Usually she says, "neither do your rods & reels".

9 times out of 10 she's right.

Buy the good stuff Neels, it lasts longer and you will take better care of it if you have spent the dollars.

First of all mate

Fri, 2011-07-22 19:36

First of all mate congratulations!!

Not sure of what outfit you want but this is your chance to get a flagship outfit so you may as well treat yourself.

I have a couple of top of the range reels, a couple of Stellas and Saltigas. My Stella 5000SW is the best reel I have ever used and I highly reccomend you look at this as the reel. Put 30 lb braid on it and you'll never look back.

2 outfits would be my choice, as u have said your rough on gear too blingy and you would be too busy thinking about scratches

Buy top shelf it might not

Fri, 2011-07-22 19:53

Buy top shelf it might not happen again, if you buy budget you may only get half next time. Stellas aren't that soft once you bang it into the rail on a Samson jigging trip you'll be over scratching it

Shit I hate Van Staal's. I would literally prefer to use a coffee grinder or an egg beater over a Van Staal.

Sat, 2011-07-23 09:51

I've got a dogfight ad after using lower quality gear for ages I'm never going back it's so smooth easy to use and amazing in any way. As for scratches it's all black so a bit of permanent marker and it looks like new again, I was worried at first because I to am rough on gear but I'll never pass on the top end gear again.

Allright

Sat, 2011-07-23 11:13

Its gona be a STELLA -- Finally Ill get one. Jay and Brad has always nagged me for this. Now Im not into GTs so what size. Mostly fish PE1-5 max. Dont need 80lb braid, 50max. Im thinking up here for a killer combo the the 8000SW.

Any thoughts Wreckers. What a delightful problem I have.

Sat, 2011-07-23 17:29

If it's 50 lb max go the 5000. You will be amazed at how strong this little reel is. Maybe put PE 3 on it (say 40lb). If you go the 8000 you may as well go up to 65 lb braid as it has the drag and capacity. By the way the 10000 is the same size just a bigger capacity spool so that to me is a better option if you don't end up going the 5000. I've got both the 5000 and 10000 and the 5000 is simply incredible.
