what fish would do this?
hey all
was out of mindarie and we were sat on a small lump in about 30 meters
two of us were fishing with 2 snelled hooks on 40lb mono traces (off 2 droppers) . saw a lot of activity on the sounder and dropped down. never felt a bite but winding in the rigs , the bottom hook had been neatly cut off as though somebody was down there with scissors. (no dive boat around ) this happened to both of us. re rigged and happened again , so i upgraded to 80lb , and same thing. no bite felt, absolutely no chaffing on any part of rig , just a neatly snipped off bait.
i was thinking bloody NW blowies but would be interested to hear what everyone else thinks.
If I spent half as long fishing , as I do reading this bloody forum , I'd be twice the fisherman I am.

leatheries tend to feed
leatheries tend to feed 'upwards' so you don't feel a bite.
