Can't work out how to put the link in. They've just released a V12 600hp outboard. Now that's some serious power!.

new mercs
price tag is $77k USD...
having a lower unit that swivels and steers makes pretty awesome sense and looks great.
Heres a good article:

Not that I’ll ever own one
Not that I’ll ever own one but it would take a while to get used to the power head being stationary whilst turning

No. That was volvo. And they promptly binned them. Wonder what patents they were after?

Good to see merc really
Good to see merc really stepping up and innovating. They must have a solid plan to lead the outboard world market with the r and d $$$ to match.

That is a serious donk, I
That is a serious donk, I used chuckle at the older Mercs and their unreliability. But gotta say they are leaping ahead these days, lighter motors, better fuel effeciency and this latest innovation of a stationary powerhead Ooof very nice.

They’ve got to be massive
My twin Verado 175's are big pieces of kit. Would love to see one, or two, or three, or maybe even four of the new bad boys in the flesh. They've jumped a nautical mile ahead of the rest of the field for the foreseeable future. Black anchors my ass........

stationary powerhead spins
stationary powerhead spins me out, as does the high tilt allowing it space similar to the smaller units.
I often look back at the direction of the motor especially after a restart on anchor.
