I'm running a 40ah on a 3m Spindrift and it's fine for a 1-2 hour session using it sparingly. I am looking at going at least 60ah next time though for those longer sessions hunting crabs and whiting on the flats.
My advice is to go as big as your boat/yak will allow.
im not very good with battery talk, at the moment ive got a fullsize car battery on the yak which fits and is ok but i feel like its a bit of over kill
