Warnbro/Garden island south side
Submitted by metroLBfisher on Mon, 2012-06-11 19:45
If weather permitts will be heading out into warnbro sound and working ourselves to the fathoms behind south side of garden island.
Was wondering if anyone had any ideas on where to fish? is it worth fishing any of the wrecks out there or three sisters? or even the tyre wreck?
First time out there, so was wondering if anyone had any reports or tips that might be helpful
Cheers,
Jamie

There is plenty of lumps
There is plenty of lumps between the mainland and FFB just on the edge of FFB, i normally just troll around watching the sounder. They normally produce fish if you work them. I havnt done too much on the outers of ffb everything i saw was pretty flat apart from a few little bits.
I have never fished the sisters, wrecks. Check if your actually aloud to fish n the wrecks before you do but !

lots of sheit ,wrasse etc around behind tubbies , and the other rocks but u can get soem good tailor if u chucking poppers
there is some king george around in the sound in the broken sand patches
as for the south end of gardies- if u sit between south end of gardies , and tip of pt peron out to sea in about 18m of water (more to sea than a straight line) anchor up( lumpy broken ground on sounder - not weed, burly up -good change u'll take snapper home i normally catch herring while i wait for the snapper and will put livies on- i very seldomly dont get something there if i use live herring

cheers for that one shark,
cheers for that one shark, very useful information! we were basically trying to target snapper as our few marks closer to carnac have died down lately and never tried out from port kennedy. Might give that a shot see how we go, was wondering on average how long it takes for snapper to come with a constant berly trail? im pretty sure we give up and move a bit too early before the berly may kick in for the snapper. We wait around 40 minutes with no bites and move..
