WANTED - abrolhos deckies
...and boats...
the spearfishing club WA Undersea is doing a mothership trip to the Abrolhos, next month October 11th - 13th, and they require 2 more med/large boats + crew to be towed over by the 25m island leader II.
the HUGE mothership can sleep 25 people, carry 4 smaller ( sub 15ft) boats on her upper deck, and can tow 2 larger boats behind. they still require the 2 bigger boats (plus skippers and crews)to tow over, to make the trip viable.
if you've wanted to fish the Abrolhos, but thought your vessel was too small, then this is the trip you want! it is a sleep on the deck/in the cabins of the island leader arrangement, so you don't even have to have a bed on your own vessel. once they get to the islands, everyone gets in their boats and goes fishing/diving. you can even fish/dive off the mother vessel if you don't have a boat/crew.
obviously, this isn't just a spearfishing trip, and it is open to anyone - divers, line fishers, etc. any interest and costs can be directed to http://www.waundersea.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1953
as mentioned, they still require the 2 larger boats plus respective skippers/crews to permit this trip to go ahead.
get on it!

good workboat
plenty of communal space on the Island Leader (nicknamed the Anal Bleeder by some clown), best boat around for a large group, Ive done some windsurf trips on it in the past.

Yeah mate,
The leader leaves from gero, and they are ultimately lookin for 2 x vessels around the 6m mark to tow over. I think there is around 8-10 spots needed to fill for the trip to go ahead.
Even if you don't have a boat, or have a boat but no crew, jump onboard for a fuckin bender of a weekend. The numbers sort themselves out.

Farrrrk Scotto. This sounds like a mint trip. I'll be down south with a few of the Dunsborough boys for the south west comp. Should hopefully be some good reports from that weekend.
Enjoy!

why dont you just scoot over
why dont you just scoot over on your own? 6.1 meter will do it easily if you have a reliable outboard

Just worried about fuel Rob H
Just worried about fuel Rob H as I can only carry 120ltrs. Havent done any overnighter trips before with it since ive got it. Boat has a reliable 115hp 4st Yammy on the back. Would be keen to give it a go with another boat on the trip however.

my previous boat was a 5.8
my previous boat was a 5.8 Trailcraft with F115 Yam, and a 3 day trip around the Sthn Group would use around 100 litres, covering 100nm. It held 250L though so worries on running short.
For you to actually get to the Abrolhos would take around 30 litres each way, from there its just the running around.
