Walpole Fishing Advice
Guys,
The wife and I are off to Walpole for a week over xmas break, and taking the boat down.
Plan is to launch at Rest point and leave the boat moored overnight, just off the bank, and kayak back to shore, or swim if the weathers good.
Any nice areas for Bream/Flathead out there, or any tips on what fish are around the river and estuary areas near Walpole?
Have made an agreement with the missus not to attemp a river mouth launch to the sea, as she wants it to be a chilled week of resting and calm boating for a change.
Any cool pubs or restaurants that are accesable by boat?
Any other members down there over that time that may be doing a sea trip out of Walpole, or want get together for a beer one evening?
Cheres for any advice.
Cheers,
Cold Feet

I was there 3 weeks ago rest point is a good place to stay! Pizza shop is pretty good. Pub is good, no need to dress up! Crabs are in. Pretty sure you could boat it to the pub!

Hey Cold Feet, Head East
Hey Cold Feet, Head East across the inlet to the mouth of the Frankland River, we've caught plenty of Flathead while we've been chasing Bream along the banks there.
The Bream are where you find 'em - haven't fished there at Xmas but def early mornings and dusk are the best times. Again the banks along the Frankland or just put the pick in somewhere just off the flats.
You'll find KG's on the sand near the river mouth (take your chicken laying pellets for burley) and you can pretty much always troll up some Herring near the river mouth near the jetty there.
Try trolling a few twisties around at sunset along the banks near Rest Point for a chance at some nice tailor as well - but really you never know what might turn up there at times.
Some highlights from our 2014 trip...

Great trip
Looks like a great trip you had there Red Dog and always great to catch it on camera, you did well.!
I just purchased a Websters twin fisher a couple of weeks ago and am looking forward to some memorable trips out on the water with it.
So far I find it a great platform for my needs.
My fishing spots are so secret........... even the fish don't know where they are !!

Thanks Krusty, been the
Thanks Krusty, been the perfect boat for Walpole.
Tie her up on the beach nose in for the full week we're there at Rest Point.
Easy in the shallows 'cause she draws so little water, safe enough to take outside and as much deck space as boats metres bigger.
Get out there and enjoy
