 Herring fillets work caught

Herring fillets work caught plenty of mullas on them. But to be honest if i cant catch a bait i dont even bother. Used plenty of frozen baits before an caught nothing, as soon as a fresh bait goes on it gets nailed. If you "have" to buy a bait id go to a fish monger and buy fresh tailor fillets.

Fresh mullet

Sun, 2012-06-24 20:10

If you can get fresh mullet that hasn't been frozen you are on the right track. Once its been frozen it loses most of the oil in it and the flesh quickly falls off the skin. Its got more oil in it than mulies by far.

The next best that I've had great success with is live herring, there is no mucking about when a mulloway takes one, its usually wham bam and you're on Sam.

100% fresh mullet is #1... 2nd.. Small chopper tailer if you can get them..

If you cant get fresh mullet... buy frozen ones and a can of the fish oil type spray and coat ur bait in it, after putting on hook..
