I know I have put it out there i am happy to look at members elecy issues on their boats , but when I travel a around trip of 200 ks to fix his dramas and there isn't ever a thanks at the end of the day I get pissed off was so close to jobing him but his wife was there a simple " thanks" works wonders for me

unfortunately there are some ungrateful bastards in this world that seem to think that a simple thanks mate it's much appreciated is too much to give. Then there are others who would give you the shirt off their back for doing them a simple favour, these are the people that keep my faith in mankind and help me see the good side of humanity. Peter I have read many times on this forum the kind advise and knowledge that you have given freely to many members. Things that would take a bloody long time to learn if it wasn't for your kindness. I know I truly appreciate it and so do a lot of others, don't let the dark side of humanity get to you or change you, you are a far far better person than they could possible hope to be.
To finish off, hope the bastard breaks down on the far side of Rotto some day

Hey Peter over the years I have had numerous people dissapoint me, I have two trades under my belt air conditioning and boilermaker trades. I have no issues in helping people who at least give it a go, the ones that shit me are the ones that play dumb and then expect you to drop everything to help them and then when you do they don't have any skills to repay you or don't make an effort to at least thank you. I know it sounds pretty awful but if I helped every person that was useless I would have no time for fishing, mowing my own lawns , home maintenaince etc. nowadays I choose to offer my help to those who I know are half decent non using human beings and I reckon it's the only way to be.

I think the point being that Pete has taken the time to try and help somone out I certainly dont have a a problem with the work he's done at my place and wouldnt say anything if there was as he has come out to do it for free if somone wasnt happy next time bud call somone out of the yellow pages and pay the call out fee and the hourly rate and then when its cost you some $$ you can complain as for manners that cost nothing but maybe Im old school.There's always a deckie spot for Pete on my boat and if he needed a hand with something (as long as it wasnt to help bury a body) I would be happy to repay him for his previous help

I can certainly see Peter's point, it's happened to me a couple of times on here where I have spent a lot of time trying to help people out and the silence after was deafening, but 95% are top blokes. You are right not to name Peter and I guess with the silence from the other party there's almost an acquiescence of guilt.But as I said there's usually two sides to a story.

I had someone kind enough to come round and look at my trailer wiring from another fishing site about 5yrs ago.
Out of stupidity I didn't even offer him anything and I only realised after. He gave me a good day out on his boat too. Needless to say that was the last trip out in that tub.
