just a thought

Just a thought zack maybe have a look at the line capacity on the 25.  I have one I bought second hand off a guy who used it for ballooning and it has a lot of dacron on it although I think he told me 500m but I am not too sure.  I keep it as a back up for ballooning LBG and for trolling in the boat but have never let out anymore than 50m so unsure of the amount of line it can fit.  look on shimano website there should be some specs for line capactity

anyway the point is you will want to have at least around 500m of line  if you want to seriously balloon so just check the capacity of the reel.  I use a penn international 30w and sherbie has plenty of room for that amount on his penn sennator 113h

actually got 24kg mono 350m then 80 bout 100m fits perfect:) i thought braid and rocks are a bit touch and go because the slightest nic in the braid there goes your line

Yep that's right braid don't like rocks. If you have a big top shot like 100m of 80lb mono your braid should never touch the rocks.
The reason braid works better underneath that is it floats lighter in the wind and has less water drag to slow your balloon down. Also you can fit alot more line on the reel
