Tiller for sure, you would
Tiller for sure, you would have your nuts smashed up the back of your throat on a 15' fwd controls any time the chop got over 1'.

Ha ha too true. Getting em
Ha ha too true. Getting em smashed up on my Quinnie which is a bit bigger. Def the tiller on a tinnie. Frees up deck space.

Tiller/gearbox/engine on off
Tiller/gearbox/engine on off exctention to the middle of the tinny and you will never look back!
Get a tinny with a deadrise bottom, not a glorified plank/coffin

tiller for sure
unless you want to use your life jackets as cushions! back when i had a dingy and we went out for snapper in the sound i would always issue the deckie with one of my life jackets back then i had the huge red rounded jackets! i wouldnt like to try it now with the small thin yellow jackets i have now!

I've got a 4.2m Makocraft
I've got a 4.2m Makocraft Estuary Tracker and I'm just in the process of changing it from Tiller to forward steering. My thoughts as I fish on my own a lot it will be much better for pulling up the anchor. You can reach the steering and throttle at the same time to make it easier pulling up the anchor. Also with tiller steer it really does get hard on your arm steering over the longer trips. Also while sitting down the back when on your own and its a little rough, sometimes the nose sits a little high to see properly. This is usually only at slow speeds but still a disadvantage. As to being a bit rougher sitting up the front I've bought a comfortable seat and mounted it on a tinny seat bracket. I agree if you hammer along it might get a little uncomfortable but don't hammer.
I did just have a rotator cuff muscle repair on my shoulder ( Complete tear off the bone) so don't have a lot of strength in my shoulder/arm anymore, and that was another factor in changing. The tiller steering was getting too hard. We'll see if I've made the right decision in the next week or two. Also getting some new deep sidepockets put in at the same time.

Ride
Take a mate out with you to steer the boat and you go and sit up on the front seat where the steering will go, won;t take long to change your idea of forward steering.

Well I went out this
Well I went out this weekend, Fri night/Sat all night in my tinny with my new forward steering. I reckon it is the best thing I've done for my tinny, its fantastic.
So much easier than before. like I said before just buy yourself a comfortable swivel tinny seat from any boatshop. Don't skimp on the quality and you won't regret it. I paid around $200 for my seat and worth every cent. Its pretty much similar seat to what you would find in a much bigger vesssel/boat.

Hey Redemperor000 do you
Hey Redemperor000 do you have seats for your tinny? If not I have a couple of plastic tinny seats without the swivel base, they have cushions on them as well but not real thick. They are in excellent condition and you can have them for free if you like. The swivel bases cost about $40 new from the boat shop. Send me a pm with your number if you want them.
