Dollies
Small Blues Codes and Shimano Waxwings are all fish takers. One of my favourites when the fish get a little bit spooky is the McArthy 4 inch Finesse minnows in the translucent Chrystella colour.

Caught mine at the FADS on
Caught mine at the FADS on Tacklehouse FEEDS popper 30g in silver side dark back colour.
That popper is about 6"
Did try the wax-wing, Maria Blues code sinking minnow 28g and Strike zone skipping popper to no avail. Eventually managed to nail one sight casting.

not commenting on experience
not commenting on experience but if your the first boat out there after some bad weather/lack of boats i think you'll have more luck with lures, if you want to put people onto fish when its been thrashed all long weekend livies do the trick. still want to trick one one into taking a plastic/lure on bream gear myself seems the comments above may point ya in the right direction.
Here we go again.

It certainly is popular myth
It certainly is popular myth that you need livies when they're flogged
However, on the weekend I saw the guys on the boat "doghouse" on the weekend were catching fish non-stop at midday with 6 other boats there and spearos in the water on the last day of a long weekend.
You can't beat skill!

something im unfortunately
something im unfortunately lacking in, along with patience. its hard to drag non fishing mates that far and try to teach them the finer points of twitching lures and lure placement in a 2 min crash coarse ;)
in saying that, some days they are firing others they shut down, have had them ignore livies in the past.
Here we go again.
