The penn is mighter than ............
We got a 9 foot penn prevail surf rod ( hi mod graphite blank) for my 12 year daughter , for last years salmon trip
down south , but dad sorta succonded it soon after , for his baitcasting for tailor.
Pretty sure there k guides , the quality is exellent, you wont find much else with the same features for less, but a 10 footer is prob more versatile.

Think we payed around 170-180, check it out.

+1 on the prevail. I have the
+1 on the prevail. I have the 9ft as well and its great for metals off the beach. 2oz seems to be the sweet spot for casting. They're definately k guides.

Daiwa
I have a sea jigger or shore jigger can't remember which one. They are great rods for light reels. A bit more expensive than the penn's though

Ive got the NS Blackhole
Ive got the NS Blackhole CabinII 9' awesome rod for the beach. Casts a small Mulie and size 2 sinker no problems at all. It has plenty of guts and still a soft feel. Its matched up with a 2500 Certate maybe a bit small but its light and could cast all day with it.

Nothing beats the Fishing wa
Nothing beats the Fishing wa 9ft IMO! Quality rod components lightweight with a lot if grunt behind it! Also casts 2ounce plugs and slugs a mile no worries and at about the same price if not a little cheaper (Oceanside fishwrecked discount) it's definately the best buy!

NS Black Hole
I would highly recommend the NS Black Hole rods. Superb balance, soooooooooo light weight, excellent finishing and the perfect action for me - brutally stiff through the middle and butt and plenty of feel in the tip.
I have just got myself the NS Black Hole Sea Bass Final (not to be confused with the softer Hurricane Sea Bass series).
Its effectively an upgraded and much stiffer Cabin Monster 2. i tried both out and couldn't put the Sea Bass Final back on the rack. It might be a little heavier rated/stiffer than you are after, it will launch anything up to 90g to silly distances. Had it partnered with 2500 and 4000 Daiwas as well as a 5000 Stella and all were great.
As mentioned above there is an NS suiting your requirements on the buy/sell forum - for me the range is great and build quality superb. i don't know how good they are with dealing with issues since Ive not experienced any with mine or know of friends who have any with their NS rods. Definitely a brand I will buy again in the future.

+1 for NS Blackhole! Ive got the Cabin 2 such an awesome rod, ive never been able to cast a stickbait so far before. High quality rod for sure. Perfect for salmon, maybe a touch heavy for local tailor imo, more suited for Albany and Kalbarri for example..

Another vote for the FWA
Another vote for the FWA 9ft. Casts 20-70 grams beautifully, is light but had lots of low down grunt. Good enough to make me choose it side by side over a tcurve & Im a die had shimano man. I don't regret the decision.

Not a good comparison
Not a good comparison Cityflicker, Tcurve costal rods suck, would choose any of sed rods before them, do the FWA rods have K guides? Haven't seen one in the flesh before.
