Tailor Bash

Evening all,

Got a couple of days off work and i'm planning to go out on another fishing expedition in search of the big greenbacks.

Tried Two Rocks last week and managed one decent sized fish on a Halco Twisty, but was thinking about going a bit closer to home this time round.

Was thinking of trying Floreat Drain or maybe Cottesloe Groyne, haven't fished these areas really but with high tide at 10am and a bit of weather around thought it might be worth a go.

Has anyone fished either of these spots recently on the early morning tide? Would be interested to find out how you went.

Cheers Simmo

Cott

The Cott area is pretty reliable this time of year Simmo. Have a look around the reef breaks that get surfed south of the Groyne, although it usually helps to get a pre dawn start before the boys paddle out. Baitcast or poppers the go. Same applies to the onshore reefs north of the Groyne.
Most consistent greenback country this side of Rotto and Two Rocks.

I figured that the beaches renouned for surfing would probably be the ones that also hold the fish too due to the uneven seabed and large gutters.

Like Smicko said though, gotta find an area before the surfers arrive :)

It's been all Simmo adventures of late while Buschy goes to work for once.

As soon as this baby is out I'm going to Cervantes.

Good luck tomorrow mate. Hope you clean up. Leave some for me on the weekend though.

My best tailor went 15lbs but that was past Lancelin a fair way but was back in the summer about 35 years back (wow, that made me feel old) on Dide Bay.

Cheers
