Tacho problem

Took my Quintrex/Johnson 140 Hp four stoke out today and the Tacho Rev gauge is not working all the 4 LED's on the bottom of the guage seemed to light up OK any ideas whats wrong ?

regulator/rectifier maybe

As wrangler said, recitifier/ regulator maybe. My tacho was bouncing all over the place when mine went. so it may not be. Put a volt metre on your batteries while running to rule out. If your not seeing a rise in volts your not getting any charge and the rect/ reg is fryed.

sounds like a dodgy
sounds like a dodgy connection to me. check your wiring, either at the alternator or the back of the gauge, could be a loose plug or the wiring may be faulty between the two components.
