Strangest Bait/Lure Additions

Just wondering what different/strangest things you have done to your bait or lures to attract fish?

Theres the old dunk your bait or lure in WD40 trick but just wondering what else is out there.

Hunk of tuna on the rear

Hunk of tuna on the rear treble of an X-rap. I casted the X-rap and let it float and the cobia did a couple laps before inhaling it.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Drinking straws

Mon, 2012-04-23 20:59

Have used 2 inch bits of drinking straws on a treble with about 4 feet of line below a blob to catch herring and done the same with a 4 inch bit of garden hose for salmon. With herring, if they go off the bite then change colour straws.

Caught tuna on bits of red rag tied directly to the line at the eye of the hook. Trolled at about 4-5 knots and works wonders when nothing else  does.
