steep point in july?

contemplating a trip to steep in july. have only really fished there when the water is warm. has anyone fished there during the cooler months with success. im guessing the bottom species will still be there but pelagics? ytk? been in tassie and the trout just dont cut the mustard. my ears are craving the sound of screaming drags. any thoughts?

Booking
Ring the ranger and make a booking first. That way you can be sure of a campsite. Nothing wrong with July to fish there though there is a chance of a cold front getting up that far to stir things up but there is always the inside on the bay available.

Always good time for Mack's
Always good time for Mack's and yft in the cooler months I spent two weeks last july fishing bernier island from carnarvon and most years hit quobba early may with great results from both 1 tip if you can get hydrogen for balloons I reccomend as it works a lot better in light winds and you use half as much. if my highschool chemistry classes taught me right, it might be a bit dangerous to use hydrogen in your balloons matte!
not all asians keep undersize fish.

went to steep in august 2 years ago and caught my first mackie and dad got his pb mackie at 21kg amoung about 10 mackies we got that week, and bottom bashing was killer then aswell,
