you can get squid this time of year but u have to work hard for them, i get most of my squid infront of garden island, any where is good just look for alot of weed, any squid jig works but i spent about 24 per jig but thats my choice everybody is different, squiding in winter is where i get the best results. good luck

Best tip I can give you is
Best tip I can give you is not to buy cheap jigs. Quality jigs like yozuri are the key to squid success, forget the cheap 3 for $10 rubbish, you'll work hard with them for not much result. There's always squid around, it's just a matter of how hard you have to work to get them. Find some good patches of weed & try them out, it's the only way you'll know if they are in that area or not.

You can get them around the rockingham jetties but I havnt had much success I got a couple off the point perron boat ramp rock wall. Casting out into the weed, hit youtube, heaps of videos about technic as stated have had better results with more expensive jigs yozuri and yanashita are good, also try the rockwalls in freo and under any lights at night

The most important thing with
The most important thing with LB squidding is spending the good money on a jig. They really are the key to getting more squid for your efforts.
Any rock wall with a bit of weed and limited water movement should hold squid. Just make sure you let it sink down near the weed. Thats the most important part which alot of people dont do.
Adding scents to you jigs doesnt help as they taste things by touching their food with there candles as thats where their taste glads are. If you are fishing them dead still under a float or under the boat there is a chance that the one with scent will get more touches as they have a chance to tap both with out it darting away and is more likely to take the scented one more aggressively. LB you rely on the squid good eye sight there aggressiveness towards feeding to get them to take the jig.

Useful article here?

We've found high-quality squid jigs in Singapore for two bucks Singapore each.
If visiting Singapore, look out for the Japanese two-buck stores in their mega-shopping-centres...
These also carry some rapala-like lures deadly on tailor and salmon. Again, just two bucks... .

I got the perfect article which will help you.
I have a copy of PDF file which explains pretty much everything if you want to start squidding. It's written by Paul Carter and amongst squid fishers who knows or had experience themselve will probably recommend it as well. PM me your email address and I'll be happy to send it over. Or try the link
