If your land based, anywhere with weed beds or artificial light at night time will hold squid. South Mole, Woodies Jetty are two main ones that i catch squid from but im sure there are few more places around just have a look on google maps and might find yourself a new squid spot.
As far as jigs go IMO pink works the best also try go for the smaller in size jigs and around 2.5 is good for those area's

few around at woodmans point
few around at woodmans point jetty they are on the smaller scale of squid though. plenty out there if you have a boat
