land based is going to be
land based is going to be hard work mate .. the little jetty at quindalup is good but you need weed beds .. canal rocks is also a great spot with a live herring under a float.

Landbased Squidding
is quite difficult down here due to the shallowness of the bay. You really need a jetty or even better a boat to access likely areas. With busso jetty shut untill at least xmas the finger jetty at Quindalup is your only realistic option, IMO. You need to be pretty careful there due to it being a boat ramp and it's quite busy at times. Go late arvo/evening, into the night.
Honestly if you can get on a boat it's not hard to bag out on Squid within 1-2hrs, there really are that many out there. Good luck.

Basically
anywhere in the bay that has weed beds. So you don't have to go out far >1km. Most of the squidding i've done would be between Dunsborough and Wonnerup. I know that's a large area but they can be pretty much anywhere in the bay. Always a shot at KG's in these area's too.
Having a live Herring or Yellowtail out under a float can be rediculously effective as a switch bait too

To be honest
the whole length, haha. Probably the area i've found the most consistent would be from the bend to the end Best time would be 5pm onwards and fish around the lights.
