Howdy all
any reports of Spaniards around yet ? - I was going for an early morning run this morning (north freo area) and saw a good size fish jump about 100m out - looked too big to be a tailor and too slender to be a tuna - my thoughts were maybe a Spaniard. Water temp prob still a bit low but was thinking of a westend troll this weekend Mate of mine has been getting a few YTK at the west end - nothing spectacular size wise but a good feed of sashimi :-)

I have seen no sign of them
I have seen no sign of them yet. Notably cooler and far less bait compared to same time last few seasons

Water
Warm water is way off.
Exmouth is way down atm so it might be a while before we see much if at all this season

Found a patch of 23.8 degree
Found a patch of 23.8 degree water out there yesterday, absolutley loaded with bait and chopper tailor. Saw one free jumper and then went over to large group of birds diving and had solid markings on the sounder around the edge of the bait. Will be back there for a troll soon for sure. Everywhere else was 21.5-22deg except the sound which was 23-24 last time i checked last week
