spangled emperor at rotto

was fishing in bay at narrow neck and picked up a small spangled emperor about 19-21 cm, no pictures but a mate on the site who was there can vouch for me, has anyone had a catch like this in southern waters?

Nothing would suprise me

Mon, 2012-03-26 19:38

Nothing would suprise me these days. This time last year i came back to the ramp at hillarys after diving for crays and saw the guys at the ramp next to me removing their dive suits. I asked how they went and the reply was they had been spear fishing the 3 mile and got a few decent fish including a hefty size coral trout. I laughed and told em it would have been a harliqin. After going over for inspection i congratulated them on catching a bloody ripper coral trout!

Cobia

Interesting to hear the comment about the cobia. I was trolling the back of the reef out from Guilderton a couple of weeks ago when i saw what im sure was a cobia swim out from under a big patch of weed. My mate told me that id clearly had a few too many little creatures of my own!
