Powerbait 3" Bass Minnows in
Powerbait 3" Bass Minnows in pearl watermelon....... if you can find any that is ;)
Atomics 3" Prong in pure white has also done really well for me.
Mccarthy minnows also slay. I've caught skippy on every single 3-4 inch saoft plastic that ive owned. When they are firing, they dont care, as long as it looks like food.

Honestly
just about any type of SP in a 3inch size.
Personally caught dozens on 3inch Berkley Powerbait Bass Minnows in Pearl Watermelon.

Squidgy 110mm flickbait in
Squidgy 110mm flickbait in the pilly colour. I use nitro jig hooks, small gauge hooks will straighten when something bigger comes along. These will catch anything, most placcys do

I got a few skippy at Rottnest on the weekend on freshly caught squid. Good fun catching the squid, save the hoods to eat and use the legs as fresh bait. we also got a small dhuie (released) as well on the same bait.
Fish! HARD!

4 posts in 2 and a half years, and you post that! Haha a tentacle on a jig head might be a gd idea if the fish go off the placcys in a session

On a serious note, if fishing
On a serious note, if fishing inside northern suburbs marinas ( hint hint ) use the smaller squidgy flick baits in pacific pearl and small jig heads ( around 1/16th ). I've found the bigger 110mm ones don't get hit as much as the smaller ones, i'm assuming they mimic a whitebait and whitebait aren't 110mm long in the marinas. However out in tim-o's boat the bigger ones get smashed hard. Another tip is to throw in a handful of berley every 5 - 10 mins. and if you're lucky enough you might have a seriously large sambo take your live skippy, i saw several sambos smashing skips and mullet with big surface bust ups not 3 metres in front of me late Sun afternooon. Good luck!

soft plastics for skippy
gday skippy fisho
i agree with the above posts regarding the squidy range for skippy. There are a couple of different softys that are well priced and have caught a host of different fish in the southwest. Mccarthy soft plastics do some great jerkbaits in a couple of sizes, 5inch and 7inch, and i cant give them enough praise. The other softys i would look for are the Atomic Plazos Jerk Minnow. There a few different sizes, but i would be leaning towardss the 3 3/4inch for the skippy. Look for the Electric Chicken colour.

Agreed I've used a few of the squidgie flick baits but have also used snap backs and they work just as well and last a lot longer too when the Pike are around slamming everything
